Getting The Picture, China Bans Portrait Auction

MAO Zedong's reputation may have been thoroughly trashed in the West, most recently by Wild Swans author Jung Chang's controversial biography, which portrayed him as a mass murderer. But in China, an outcry over the sale of a painting of the late leader shows he is still widely respected, despite being officially "30 per cent" wrong.
